CONTEXT
When we are involved in an engaging process we have no attention left to monitor our body or thoughts. This simple dependence called the state of flow, has been exploited by social media platforms that are designed to optimize the mindless state and keep us hooked for as long as possible
APPROACH
GEST is an interactive, ambient light installation that uses hand gestures to activate peripheral home environment. The interaction was designed using mechanisms intending to evoke the state of flow. The goal of the installation is to create calm and provoke boredom which becomes a motivation for an action.
